RiverBend is the result of a one-of-a-kind collaboration between BC Housing, River City Seniors Society (formerly Thrupp Manor Society) and private developers A & T Project Developments Inc. and Quinn Developments Ltd. This $30-million facility combined the goals and requirements of all partners to create a seniors housing solution that offers 66 low income rental and 99 luxury private ownership suites -- finished to five-star quality -- where all residents access age-in-place support services as needed. This 164,000-square-foot facility, on 3 acres of riverfront in Brocklehurst, addresses the need for quality-built social housing, and affordable seniors housing, in an area that is accessible and pedestrian friendly with many nearby amenities.
RiverBend is a four‐storey development with 99 private suites and 66 social housing units as well as common amenities such as dining room, library, entertainment and activity rooms. All RiverBend suites and common areas were designed to accommodate seniors with limited mobility.
